SRC-7 Hardware

The Series H MAP used in the SRC-7 contains two traditional 55 Mgate user logic chips clocked at 150 MHz.

The MAP connects to the rest of the system through two interconnect ports that sustain a total data payload of 14.4 Gbytes per second. These ports can connect to either the Hi-Bar switch or a SNAP interface.

Tower MAPstations can use a six-port version of SRC’s Hi-Bar switch to allow multiple MAPs or common memory banks to exist in a single system.

SRC-7 will also be available in large scale multi-MAP systems based on the second generation of our 16 port Hi-Bar switch. As with the SRC-6, two tiers of the switch support up to 256 nodes with a sustained payload bandwidth per port of 3.6 Gbytes per second and very low latency.

GPIO ports can be chained from MAP to MAP or used for external interconnect.
